Terms of Publication
  • Islamic Arts publishes original essays, studies and papers for writers and researchers in both Arabic and English, provided that these essays or papers have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • Articles, studies, and researches will be evaluated by the editorial staff or the advisory board to approve validity for publication.
  • Papers shall be submitted on CD or emailed in text format, accompanied by the name and academic designation of the writer Writers shall observe academic methodology in their work.
  • Footnotes and references mentioned within the text must be numbered serially. Such references (and bibliographies) must be listed at the end of the essay to match the numbering sequence and as follows:
References
  • Family name, first name (dates of birth/death).
  • Title, volume, verifier, publisher, place of publication, date of publication, volume number, page number.
Bibliography
  • Author(s), edition, publisher, place of publication, date of publication, page number.
  • Footnotes and references mentioned within the text must be numbered serially. Such references (and bibliographies) must be listed at the end of the essay to match the numbering sequence and as follows:
  • For Western writers, family name should be first, followed by forename.
  • If foreign names of persons, places, and terms appear in the text, they must be shown in the original language between two polygonal brackets <> for the purpose of translation. If the writer wants the name to appear 'as is' in the Arabic edition, the name must be inserted between two brackets ( ).
Remarks
  • A high definition (300dpi) picture shall be attached with the essay, accompanied by a detailed caption. Authors undertake that photographs or illustrations are not taken from any other source without permission and must acknowledge and credit sources where permission for publication has been granted.
  • Authors must provide a brief professional resume and a personal photograph.
  • Authors will receive two copies of the issue in which their work is published.
  • Authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection within three months of receipt of submissions for publication.
  • Submissions will not be returned, irrespective of acceptance or publication.
  • Writers will be held exclusively held liable for the opinions contained in their essays.
