Professor Yousif Mohamed Abdulla

Prof Abdulla was born in Yemen where he received his early education, finishing his higher studies in Germany. He was the first Yemeni student to receive a scholarship to Germany and was awarded a PhD by Eberhard Karl University. He is an expert in museums, archaeology, and ancient calligraphy and has taught at the University of Sana'a as well as holding a visiting professorship at Marburg University in Germany. Prof Abdulla has held many high-ranking positions in Yemen, including Chairman of the General Authority of Archaeology, Museums and Calligraphy; and Consultant to the Minister of Culture. He has published many books and essays, specialising in environmental studies.
