Professor Monawar Al-Maheed

Prof Al-Maheed was born in Jordan in 1955 and completed his studies in the USA in 1983, receiving a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of California. This was followed by a PhD degree from Wales University. He became a professor in Proportions Engineering, Shapes & Symbolism in Islamic Architecture & Arts and is currently dean of the College of Islamic Arts & Architecture at the International Islamic Sciences University in Jordan. He has published many studies and researches on symbolism in Islamic architecture. His most prominent work is Rebuilding of the Pulpit of Salahudin in Al-Aqsa Mosque. He has designed and supervised many buildings on the basis of Islamic architecture and is the recipient of numerous international architectural prizes.
